Eunice Cravey

Mrs. Eunice Wheeler Cravey, age 91, of Sanderson, Florida died Monday, Jan. 13, at her residence following a brief illness. She was born in Lake City, Fla. on Dec. 14, 1922 and lived in Olustee, Fla. for many years before moving to Sanderson, Fla. 30 years ago. She was the former postmaster of the Olustee Post Office and worked with her husband at the Olustee Battlefield State Park for over 15 years until her retirement. She was the oldest member of the Olustee Baptist Church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Macclenny, Fla. She was a proud mother and grandmother and enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Tom” English Cravey, her two daughters, Carolyn Rhoden and Julie Roberts. She is survived by two daughters, Susan (Tim) McKelvey of Yulee, Fla. and Krista (Vernon) Nielsen of Glen St. Mary, Fla.: One son, Tommy Cravey of Lake City, Fla.: Six sisters, Dorothy Johnson of Gainesville, Fla., Charlotte Collins of Ft. White, Fla., Alice Anderson, Betty Ann Stumph and June Walker all of Lake City, Fla. and Thelma Chauncey of Zephyrhills, Fla.: One brother, C.A. Wheeler of White Springs, Fla.: Eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchild and very special neighbors, Ricky and Georganna Griffith of Sanderson, Fla. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Thursday, Jan. 16, in the Olustee Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth A. Edenfield of Lake City, Fla. officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Macclenny, Fla. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, Jan. 15, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Fla.
