Mrs. Evelyn Solomon, age 83, of Macclenny, Fla. died Wednesday, May 28, in the Orange Park Medical Center, Orange Park Fla, following a brief illness. She was born in St. George, Ga. and resided in Jacksonville, Fla. most of her life and then moved to Macclenny, Fla. 12 years ago. She worked as a food processor with Painter Poultry, Jacksonville, Fla. for many years. She was a member of the Mt. Paron Primitive Baptist Church of Alapaha, Ga. and attended the New Hope Church of Macclenny, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Solomon, her parents, Sylvester Lee and Mattie Johns Lyons, and three brothers. Floyd Elbert Lyons, Stanley Lee Lyons and Joseph Arthur Lyons. She is survived by her brother, Londie (Geraldine) Lyons of Macclenny, Fla.: Sister-in-law, Lilla Lyons of Macclenny, Fla.: Nephew, Carroll (Dixie) Stone of Bryceville, Fla. and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Saturday, May 31, in the Mt. Paron Primitive Batist Church, Alapaha, Ga. with Elder Robert Tucker, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Paron Cemetery, Alapaha, Ga. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, May 30, at Guerry Funeral Home, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Florida. www.guerryfuneralhome.net
