Evelyn Irene Witt

Mrs. Evelyn Irene Witt, age 91, of Lake City, Florida died Tuesday, April 30, at her residence following a sudden illness. He was born in Providence, Florida and had resided in the Ellisville community of Columbia County for 70 years. She was a homemaker and member of The Cross Church of Ellisville. She was preceded in death by the love of her life of 60 years, her late husband J.P. “Tookie” Witt and her parents, Grover and Hattie Shealy Clyatt. She is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Pat) Haygood of Lake City, Florida and Becky Witt (Luis Nunez) of Costa Rica; Two brothers, Marvin Shealy of Suwannee, Florida and Linvil Shealy Lake City, Florida; grandchildren, John (Scarlett) Sherman, Brooke (Thomas) McDuffie, David (Margie) Haygood and Heather (Larry) Womack; great-grandchildren, Addyson and Carrigan Sherman, Eliza and Whitt McDuffie, Cori, Marni and Carly Womack and Hailey Haygood.  A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Witt will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, May 6, in The Cross Church, 12518 South U.S. Highway 441, Lake City, Florida with Pastor Kenneth Edenfield officiating.  Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Lake City, Florida.
