Francis Ruth Pyles

Mrs. Francis Ruth Pyles, age 76, of Lake City, Florida passed away at Shands UF Medical Center, Gainesville, Florida on Sunday, Oct. 29th 2017. Mrs. Pyles was born in Antlers, Ok.  March 16, 1941. She had resided in Lake City, Florida since 1977. She worked many years with Metal Products and was a health aide at Branford Arms ALF and Plantation ALF before retiring to take care of her husband. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend. She was also an avid book reader and loved to watch NCIS and CIS on TV.  She also loved to spent time with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Margie Knapp, numerous brothers and sisters, her husband of 49 years, Eugene Herman Pyles, Jr. and one grandson, Derek Andrew Varnes. She is survived by her children. Jimmy Newell (Sandra) of Alma, Ga., Margaret Varnes (David) of Lake City, Florida, Willie Pyles (Dawn) of Arcadia, Florida and Scarlett Pyles (Eric Deese) of Lake City, Florida: Two sisters, Joanne Flores (Eloy) and Juanita French (William) of Az.: Two brothers,  Martin Knapp (Pat) of Texas and Bobby Knapp of OK.: also 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, along  with many nieces and nephews, especially Tammy Pupo (Omar) of Fl. and Edward Kight (Allison) of Lake City who she thought of as her own children. She will be missed by many. Graveside funeral services will be held at 12 P.M. Thursday, November 2, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Lake City, Florida with Rev. Paul Moreau officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10:30 to 11:30 A.M. (One hour before services) at the funeral home. After the services, the family will receive friends at the Deep Creek Community Center, U.S. 441 North, Lake City, Fla. for food and fellowship.  GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W.
