Frank Conner

Mr. Frank Conner, age 89, of Sanderson, Florida died Wednesday, March 23, in the St. Vincents Medical Center, Jacksonville, Florida following an extended illness. Mr. Conner was born in Sanderson, Florida and moved to Jacksonville, Florida and then moved back to Sanderson in 1988. He was a former welder with Gibbs Corp., Jacksonville, Florida and then owned Conner Grocery, Jacksonville, Florida before his retirement in 1988. He was a member of the Pine Level Church, Baker County, Florida, a U.S. Army veteran and enjoyed farming, fishing and square dancing. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosella H. Conner, his son Claudell Conner , three siblings, Ruby Raulerson, Fred Conner and Marcus Gene Conner, his parents, Lawton and Essie Mae Rhoden Conner. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Conner of Sanderson, Florida: Three daughters, Cathie (Rick) Robinson and Debbie (Rick) Brackett both of St. Augustine, Florida and Dedria (Leon) Jarriel of Jacksonville, Florida: Two sons, Durelle (Della) Conner and Derek (Bobbie Jane) Conner both of Sanderson, Florida: Eight siblings, Susie C. Marsh, Virgil Conner, Evelyn C. Nipper, Gladys C. Hair, Floyd Conner and Patsy C. Groves all of Sanderson, Florida, Nettie Ruth Anderson of Cross City, Florida and Henry Conner of Moniac, Georgia: Four step-children, Scott (Sherri) Senea of Live Oak, Florida, Debra (Todd) Hunt of Lake City, Florida, Nancy (Dale) Wetmore of Madison, Florida and Linda (Jackie) Valentine of Cross City, Florida: 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Conner will be held at 4 P.M. Saturday, March 26, in The Taylor Church, Taylor, Florida with Rev. Fred Raulerson, Pastor of the Pine Level Church, officiating. Interment will be in Taylor Cemetery, Taylor, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M.
