Mr. Franklin Edward Clyatt, Sr., 83 of Lake City passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at the Lake Shore Hospital in Lake City. Mr. Clyatt was born in Providence, Florida to the late Brewster and Louise Fralick Clyatt and live all of his life in Lake City. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp during World War II having served in the European Theatre. Mr. Clyatt enjoyed fishing and watching the Dallas Cowboys Football Team. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, the American Legion and Hopeful Baptist Church which he loved attending. Mr. Clyatt was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jean Clyatt in 2001.
Mr. Clyatt is survived by one son, Franklin E. Clyatt, Jr. (Lynn), Wheaton, Maryland, two daughters, Debra Johnson (John Thomas), Macclenny and Linda Jones (Chris), Lake City.
Three brothers, Ivan Clyatt, Charles Clyatt (Janice) both of Lake City and David Clyatt (Brenda), Jacksonville, three sisters, Nancy Chauncey (Stanley), Yvonne Petty (Zimmie) and Marylou Daniels (Lewis) all of Lake City, eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Clyatt will be conducted on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Dr Rodney Baker, pastor of Hopeful Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8:00 PM Thursday (tonight) at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of GUERRY Funeral Home, 2659 SW Main Blvd., Lake City.
