Mr. Freddie Sim Howell, age 75, of Providence, Florida died Friday, Nov. 6, at his residence following and extended illness. Mr. Howell was born in Jacksonville, Florida , resided in Branford, Florida before moving to the Columbia county area of Providence, Fla. in 1965. He served in the U.S. Navy for over 20 years and retired in 1977 as an E-7 Chief Aviation Electrician and then worked as a supervisor with General Electric Corp., Alachua, Fla. for 18 years. He was a graduate of Branford High School, a graduate of Lake City Community College and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Ruth Howell of Providence, Fla.: Three sons, Franklin Sim (Tami) Howell, Dennis G. Howell and Lisa and Jason Howell and Michelle Charles all of Providence, Fla.; Ten grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren also survive. Graveside military funeral services will be conducted at 3 P.M. Tuesday, Nov. 10, in the Old Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, Providence, Fla. with Rev. James Richardson, Pastor of Springhill Methodist Church, Alachua, Fla., officiating. GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Fla. is in charge of arrangements.
