Geraldine "Honey" Norris Stripling

Mrs. Geraldine “Honey” Norris Stripling (1934-2017) passed away quietly at her home in Lake City, Florida Wednesday, Sept. 28th, 2017 after a brief illness. She was born in Nashville, Georgia and moved to Lake City as a baby with her family, her parents, Peyton D. and Treasy (Stamper) Yopp and her brother, Dewey Carlton Yopp. She was raised in Lake City and married Lonnie Norris and began her life as wife and mother.  She traveled widely and lived on both coasts and in Europe.  As a traveling nurse, she cared for others with great skill and compassion across the country.  A woman of profound faith, she lived a Christian life while embracing the world with an open heart and an open mind.  She touched many lives in her time and we are all better for it.  She is survived by her brother, Col. Dewey C. Yopp of Old Town, Florida: Her children, Michael D. Norris  of Lake City, Florida, Daniel C. Norris of Roque River, Or. and Falena Norris Johnson of Port Richie, Florida: Grandchildren, Cricket Norris Robinson, Merry Star Knight, Rachel L. Norris, Jessica M. Johnson, Joshua D. Norris, David A. Johnson, Peyton D. Norris and Caitlin Norris Williamson, as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces,  nephews, dear cousins and beloved friends.  She will be in our hearts and we will miss her dearly.

A memorial service to honor the life of Mrs. Stripling will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, Oct. 2, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home, Lake City, Florida.
