Gregory Kay Spears

Gregory Kay Spears (Greg) had been a resident of Lake City, FL since February of 1993.  He entered into his final resting on March 7th, 2025. He was born in Marimount, OH on August 30th, 1945. Greg was a member of the Armed Forces and a successful creative entrepreneur. His greatest joy was being a dad to his 6 children and Pop Pop to his 15 grandkids. Greg enjoyed doing many things; he had a passion for cooking, traveling, and restoring antique cars and houses. Many in the community will remember him from his years of wholesaling cars. He embraced all opportunities to travel and explore new places. Greg believed in hard work and helping people in need. He enjoyed sharing his fantastic cooking with his family and friends. The man just did not know how to sit and relax! He  is  survived  by  his  wife  Jessete  Spears,  his  6  children:  DeVon  Spears (Giannina Spears), Melissa Soden (Jeffery Soden Sr.), Dominique LeFever (Bobby LeFever),  Katrina  Alvarez  (Alvaro  Alvarez), Brittany Durden (Luke Durden), and Matthew  Borchardt,  his  15  grandkids:  Alexis,  Sergio,  Trevor,  Ayden,  Jeffery, Sabrina, Shaya, Ella, Drake, Brie, Raylin, Bryce, Jena, Tristan, and Jerrilyn, his 4 siblings:  Terry,  Rodney,  Tammi,  and  Brent.  He is predeceased by his parents Monroe & Dora Spears, and siblings Larry, Byron, and Lori. A celebration of his life will be held 2:00pm, Saturday, March 15, 2025, in the chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Pastor Brent Spears officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Guerry Funeral Home is honored to serve the Spears family.
