Gussie Koon Thornton

Mrs. Gussie Koon Thornton, age 74, of Fort White, Florida died Thursday, Nov. 4, in the Rehabilitation Center of Lake City, Florida following an extended illness.  Mrs. Thornton was born in Lake City, Florida and resided in Raiford, Florida for many years before moving back to Fort White, Florida in 2000. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of Christ, Lake City, Florida.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Dale Thornton, Sr. and her parents, Elmer N. and Hattie Mae Johnson Koon. She is survived by her two sons, Dale Thornton and Chad Thornton both of Fort White, Florida; two brothers, Tom Koon of Fort White, Florida and Bob Koon of Lake City, Florida; four grandchildren, Garrett Thornton, Brandon Thornton, Spencer Thornton and Madison Bassler; five great-grandchildren also survive. A graveside funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Thornton will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, Nov. 8, in the Fort White Cemetery, Fort White, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 1 to 2 P.M. (One hour before services) at the cemetery. GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W.
