Harry N. Bowen

Mr. Harry Newton Bowen, age 82, of Macclenny, Florida died Sunday, March 5, in the St. Vincents Riverside Medical Center, Jacksonville, Florida following a brief illness.  He was born in Jacksonville, Florida and resided in Baldwin, Florida before moving to Macclenny, Florida 38 years ago. He was employed as an executive car foreman with CSX Railroad for over 32 years until his retirement.  He enjoyed playing the guitar and was a member of the N.E. Florida Blue-Grass Club and the Friends of Twin Oaks Blue Grass Group and he also enjoyed fishing.  He was preceded in death  by his parents,  Debs Russell and Clara O’Steen Bowen, Sr.  He is survived by his wife, Clara Sue Bowen of Macclenny, Florida:  One son, James D. Bowen of Macclenny, Florida:  Two brothers,  Debs Russell Bowen, Jr. of Glen St. Mary, Florida and Gary Bowen of Corbin, Kentucky.  Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M.  Tuesday, March 6, in the Macedonia Cemetery, Baker County, Florida with Mr. George Wells of Jacksonville, Florida speaking on behalf of the family. Family and friends may gather at the cemetery 30 minutes before services. GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Florida is in charge of arrangements.
