Hazel Harvey Taylor

Mrs. Hazel Harvey Taylor, 82 of Glen St. Mary passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville. A native of Delray Beach, Florida, Mrs. Taylor resided in Baker County all of her life and was a daughter to the late Lloyd and Daisy Rhoden Harvey. She graduated from Sanderson High School class of 1946, retired from the Northeast Florida State Hospital with 20 years of service and was the volunteer of the year service award at the Frank Wells Nursing Home in 2000. She was a member of the Taylor Church in Taylor and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Mr. R.L. Taylor, Sr. in 1998 and one brother, Virgil Harvey in 2002.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by three sons, R.L. (Paula) Taylor, Jr., Darwin (Christine) Taylor and Erwin (Myrtle) Taylor all of Glen St. Mary and one daughter, Jana T. (Kenneth) Crews, Glen St. Mary. One brother, Vernon (Jackie) Harvey, Sanderson, three sisters, Janette Richards, Mandarin, Juanita Taylor, Macclenny and Margie (Carlton) Davis, Sanderson, twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Taylor will be conducted on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Taylor Church with Rev. Mark Woods officiating. Interment will follow in Taylor Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8:00 PM Saturday evening at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of GUERRY Funeral Home, 420 East Macclenny Ave., Macclenny.
