Helen Jeanette Metcalf

Mrs. Helen Jeanette Metcalf, age 79, of Lake City, Florida passed away Friday, Aug. 19, at Lake City Medical Center.  Mrs. Metcalf was born in Miami, Florida, and lived in Homestead and South Miami Heights, Florida before moving to Lake City, Florida, in 1993. She worked as a cashier with Wal-Mart, Lake City, Florida for over six years. She was a graduate of South Dade High and a member of the Modello Baptist Church of Homestead, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Berma Faircloth Dykes and three siblings, Mary Dykes Caldwell, Irwin “Buddy” Dykes and Robert “Carl” Dykes. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Charles M. Metcalf, Jr. of Lake City, Florida; her daughter, Bernice (John) Janki of Lake City, Florida; her son, Charles M. (Adrienne) Metcalf, III of Lake City, Florida; one brother, James Dykes of Live Oak, Florida; three grandchildren, John C. Janki, Charles M. Metcalf, IV and Karlie Metcalf also survive.  Cremation arrangements by GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida.
