Mrs. Hilda Faye “Tootsie” Gainey Harvey, age 88, of Bryceville, Florida passed away Friday, Jan. 5, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Harvey was born in Moniac, Georgia and resided in Baldwin, Florida before moving to Bryceville, Florida in 1968. She was a homemaker and enjoyed working in her yard and growing flowers. For many years she enjoyed driving her husband to play in many Blue Grass Shows in their area. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raiford and Thelma Thompson Gainey. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Floyd Allan Harvey of Bryceville, Florida; her three daughters, Kathy White and Lisa (Rendell) Comer both of Bryceville, Florida and Patti Clark (Sean Morris) of Glen St. Mary, Florida; sister-in-law, Martha Faye Gainey of Middleburg, Florida; six grandchildren, Jennifer Barrett, Alex Lance, Misty Rowland, Jackie Taylor, Jessica Ivy and Rylee Comer; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Harvey will be held at 1 P.M. Wednesday, Jan. 10, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. James Conner of St. George, Georgia officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 5 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Boone’s Creek Cemetery, north of St. George, Georgia.
