Hope Motte

Mrs. Hope Motte passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024, at her home. Mrs. Motte was born on January 18, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Frederick and Darlene Thornton. Mrs. Motte resided in Sarasota, Florida until moving to Wellborn, Florida in 1983 where she resided until her passing. Hope was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church where she loved to attend services. She enjoyed playing gospel music, she even created several gospel albums and was a member of the Trailway Sisters singing group. Hope also enjoyed canning food, camping with her husband and family as well as spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband, Lionel Anthony Motte, Jr.; three sons, Luke and David Kemfert and Daniel (Jo) Motte; two daughters, Melissa Floyd and Stephanie Motte; brother, Frank (Eileen) Thornton; sister, Lisa Peabody and seven grandchildren also survive.

A memorial service to honor the life of Mrs. Hope Motte will be held from 3:00 to 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 27th, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida.
