Jack Owen Craft

February 28, 1926 — April 24, 2011

Mr. Jack Owen Craft, 85 of Lake City passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2011 at the Lake City V.A. Hospital. Mr. Craft was a native of Winter Park, Florida and a longtime resident of Wellborn, Florida. He was the middle child of three children to the late Thomas Owen and Grace Jones Craft. Mr. Craft was drafted by the US Army in 1945, was a graduate of Wellborn High School class of 1945 and a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and enjoyed farming, gardening and collecting and selling aluminum cans. Mr. Craft was preceded in death by his wife, Demura Craft in 2003 and one son, Ronald Eugene Craft in 1958.

Mr. Craft is survived by two sons, Bruce Craft (Betty), Lake City and Jeff Craft, Live Oak. Three grandchildren, Chris Craft and Danielle Craft both of Lake City and Chelsey Craft, Lake Park, GA, three great grandchildren, Trinity and Piper Doyle both of Lake City and Kaylee Craft, Lake Park, GA, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Craft will be conducted on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Lewis Gooch officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the church cemetery with military honors. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 6-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Arrangements are under direction of GUERRY Funeral Home, 2659 SW Main Blvd., Lake City.
