James William Keene

Mr. James William Keene, age 87 of Baldwin, FL passed away Sunday, March 31st in St. Vincent’s Riverside Hospital, Jacksonville, FL. He was born February 23, 1937 in Lake City, FL to the late John H. and Eunice Beal Keene. Mr. Keene graduated from Baldwin High School in 1956 and retired from the State of Florida, Department of Corrections in 1991. He also served in the United States Army. Mr. Keene was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Mary Louise Eddy, Sarah Davis Pittman and Gwendolyn Bunn. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gwyndle Keene of Baldwin, FL: sister, Marlene Joyner of Jacksonville, FL: nephews, Jim Mosley, Jeff Eddy, Daryl Davis, Michael Joyner, Richard Bunn: nieces, Diane Bullard, Lori Fish, Tonda Robertson, Stephanie Bunn, and Kimberly Browning. Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Keene will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday April 3rd in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Pastor Ike Matthews officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 5 to 7 P.M., Tuesday, April 2nd at the funeral home. Interment will follow the funeral services in Woodlawn Cemetery, Macclenny, FL .
