Mr. James Franklin Melvin, Jr., age 69, of Macclenny, Fl. passed away Monday, October 5, in the Orange Park Medical Center, Orange Park, Fl. after a long illness. Mr. Melvin is of the Mormon faith and has been a resident of Baker County for 22 years. He worked as a police officer with the Florida Department of Safety and was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Franklin Melvin, Sr. and Betty Lou Mick Melvin. He is survived by his wife, Amanda Melvin of Macclenny, Fl. and one step-daughter, Brooke Musgrove of Brunswick, Ga. Services to honor the life of Mr. Melvin will be held at 10 A.M., Thursday, October 8 in the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS, Macclenny, Fl. with Bishop Joseph Heath officiating. Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 P.M., Wednesday, October 7 at Guerry Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Jacksonville National Cemetery, Jacksonville, Fl. at 2 P.M. on Thursday. Guerry Funeral Home, US 90 East, Macclenny, Fl. is in charge of arrangements.
