Mr. James Curtis Phillips, Sr., age 58, of Sanderson, Florida died Monday, June 16, at his residence following a sudden illness. He was born in Jacksonville, Fla. but lived in Sanderson, Fla. all of his life. He was the owner of C.P.’s Concrete Works which did concrete finishing projects. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Macclenny, Fla., a member of the Pine Top Hunting Club and Okefenokee Training Enclosure and a graduate of Baker County High School Class of 1974. He was preceded in death by his wife, Amelia Ann Phillips in March 2014. He is survived by his daughter, Hillary Phillips (fiancé Christopher Berry) of Jacksonville, Fla.: His son, Jamie Phillips (fiancé Kim Miller) of Sanderson, Fla.: His parents, Raymond and Frances Phillips of Sanderson, Fla.: His step-son, Josh Bryan (Cassi Canaday) of Taylor, Fla.: His sister, Kim (James) Long of Sanderson, Fla.: His brother, Darryl (Tammy) Phillips of Macclenny, Fla.: Two grandchildren, Aiden and Canaan Bryan also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Friday, June 20, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Raulerson, Pastor of Pine Level Church, officiating.
