Mr. James Logan Williams, age 69, of Lake City, Florida died Monday, Dec. 8, in the Lake City Medical Center, Lake City, Florida following an apparent heart attack. Mr. Williams had resided in Lake City all of his life and was employed as a truck driver with Bluelinx Trucking Company of Lake City, Fla. for over 30 years before retiring in 2009. He was a member of the Lake City Church of God, a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and enjoyed hunting, fishing and Gator football. He was preceded in death by his parents, Logan Berry and Lovie Church Williams. He is survived by his wife, Myra Williams of Lake City, Florida: Two sons, Darrel (Amy) Williams of Raiford, Fla. and Jimbo (Mary) Williams of Lake City, Fla.: Three sisters, Vernice Gaskins, Mary (Joe) Hebert and Ruby Williams all of Lake City, Florida: Five grandchildren, James Curtis Williams, Emmery Williams, Bobby Williams, Shelby Williams and Madison Williams: Five great-grandchildren and his close friend, Tommy Harrington of Lake City, Fla. also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Friday, Dec. 12, in the Lake City Church of God with Rev. Doyle Williams, associate pastor of the Fort White Church of God, officiating and assisted by Rev. Barney Hurst, Pastor of the North Lake City Church of God. Interment will be in Williams Cemetery, Lake City, Florida. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 P.M. Thursday, Dec. 11, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W.
