Mr. James Vester Yeomans, Jr., age 73, of Macclenny, Florida died Wednesday, Jan. 28, at his residence following an extended illness. He was a native of Folkston, Georgia and resided in St. George, Ga. and St. Petersburg, Fla. before moving to Macclenny, Florida in 1969. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry for 45 years until his retirement in 2004. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Operating Engineers Union #673. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and driving fast cars. He was preceded in death by his parents, James V. and Nellie Edna Sikes Yeomans, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Carol R. Yeomans of Macclenny, Fla.: Four children, three sisters, nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Saturday, Jan. 31, in the New Life Baptist Church, St. George, Georgia with Rev. James Conner, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. George Cemetery, St. George, Georgia.
