Janet Sue Matthews

Ms. Janet Sue Matthews, age 65, of Jacksonville, Florida died Saturday, Feb. 25, in the Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital, Macclenny, Florida following a brief illness.  She was a native of Jeffersonville, Indiana and resided in Tampa, Florida before moving to Jacksonville, Florida in 1995. She was a former 2nd Lt. in the U.S. Air Force, a graduate of the University of Florida Class of 1969 with a B.A. Degree in Education and a member of the Julington Creek Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Junior and Mable Louise Vaughan Matthews.  She is survived her sister, Judith A. Quesada of Jacksonville, Florida:  Two brothers, Steven D. Matthews of Tampa, Florida and Robert A. Matthews of Cincinnati, Ohio:  several nieces also survive.

A graveside funeral service to honor the life of Ms. Matthews  will be held at 2:30 P.M. Thursday,  March 2, in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Jacksonville, Florida with Rev. Dave Berry, Pastor of the San Jose Church of Christ, officiating.  Family will receive friends at the graveside before services.  GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Florid is in charge of arrangements.
