Jean Herbert Brimmer

Mrs. Jean Herbert Brimmer, age 82, of Lake City, Florida passed away on Tuesday, September 17, in the Bedrock Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Lake City, Florida following an extended illness. Mrs. Brimmer was born Jean Alberta Herbert in Trenton, New Jersey and resided in Kissimmee, Florida for over 20 years until moving to Lake City one year ago. She volunteered for many years as an active member of the Living Water Church of Kissimmee, Florida. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Beaver College (Arcadia University) in Glenside, Pennsylvania, then worked as a Special Ed teacher for 10 years. She then took her passion for education and combined it with her love of playing the piano and became a private music teacher who taught piano for over 20 years. After retiring from more than 30 years as a beloved educator, to fill her free time, she worked a retiree job at Walt Disney World for 15 years, which brought her tremendous joy.

Mrs. Brimmer was preceded in death by her parents, Carlton and Alberta Lovendusky Herbert. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Donald B. Brimmer of Lake City, Florida; 2 daughters, Michelle (Kevin) Sigafoos of New Albany, Indiana, and Kayshen Rose of Celebration, Florida; 4 siblings, Allen (Kathy) Herbert, Doris (Bob) Adler, Christine (Dana) Webster and David (Colleen) Herbert; 10 grandchildren, Jenae, Nathaniel, Hunter, Tera, Joel, Dalton, Aiden, Victoria, Ethan and Olivia; and 1 great-grandson, Andrew, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on October 5th at 11:00am at the First Presbyterian Church, 125 Garden Street, Mt. Holly, New Jersey and will continue at the home of Allen and Kathy Herbert in Sykesville, New Jersey. Casual attire is suggested. GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd, Lake City, Florida is in charge of arrangements.
