Mr. Jerry Ronald Moran, age 76, of Macclenny, Fla. passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 3, 2011. He was born on November 22, 1935 in New Richmond, Ohio. He was a lifelong resident of Macclenny, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents Everitt and Flora Moran, his son Donnie Moran and his brother, Everitt Moran.
He was a successful business owner of Moran's Motor and Wrecker Service and Moran's Motor Parts for many years, retiring in 1998. He was heavily involved in dirt track racing for 45 years and was inducted into the Jacksonville Raceways Hall of Fame in 1996. He enjoyed dirt track racing, fishing, and his dogs. He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Macclenny, Fla.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Faye Moran of Macclenny, Fla.: Three sons, Steve (Sonya) Moran and Ricky (Robin) Moran both of Macclenny, Fla. and Ronnie (Amanda) Moran of Glen St. Mary, Fla.: His sister, Ellen Hilliard of Tampa, Fla.: Daughter-in-Law, Christean (Tom) Raley of Glen St. Mary, Fla.: Six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Tuesday, Dec. 6, in the Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Ramondetta, Pastor, officiating and assisted by Rev. James D. Rogers and Rev. Torran Dismuke. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Macclenny, Fla. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, Dec. 5, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Fla.
