Jesse Henry Byrd

Jesse was born in Lafayette County on March 14, 1948. He was preceded in death by parents; Henry and Rachel (Owens) Byrd, brother Dewy, and Sister Phyllis Byrd. He graduated from Dixie County High School in 1968 and began his 36-year career with FDOT. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Julia Ann (Feagle) Byrd, Lake City, FL; daughter; Sandra (Byrd) Jewett, Lake City, FL; one son Jason Byrd, Lake City, FL; four grandchildren; Jessica, Alex, Kyle Jewett and Keaton Byrd all of Lake City. Also sisters, Bertha Wilson (John), Martha Sue O’steen (Tony), brother Jimmy (Janice) Byrd all of Cross City. One sister-in-law Kathy (Donald) Register Lake City, FL., numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends form 2:00pm until 4:00pm on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Guerry Funeral Home.  Funeral services to honor the life of Jesse will be held at 3:00pm Monday, November 16, 2015 at the Evangel Church of God in Lake City with Pastor John Hathaway officiating.  Interment will follow at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the care of Guerry Funeral Home, 2659 SW Main Blvd, Lake City, Florida. www.guerryfuneralhome@yahoo.com
