Mr. Jimmie Daniel Floyd, Sr., age 86 of Glen St. Mary, Florida passed away Saturday, December 16 in the Acosta Rau Center for Caring, Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Floyd was born in Douglas, Georgia to the late Sidney and Lizzie Floyd and lived in Jacksonville, Florida for many years before moving to Baker County, Florida over 20 years ago. He worked as a truck driver and was the owner of Jacksonville Heights Sand Company, Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Floyd was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the Dinkins New Congregational Methodist Church. He loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed working in his yard. He is preceded in death by his parents and three sons, Jimmie D. Floyd, Jr., Gary Floyd and Michael Floyd. Mr. Floyd is survived by one son, Steve (Teresa) Floyd of Glen St. Mary, Florida: two daughters, Patricia (Leroy) Washington of Glen St. Mary, Florida and Cheryl (Ronnie) Morris of Jacksonville, Florida. Nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Floyd will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday, December 20 in the Dinkins New Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Alford officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from to 6 to 8 P.M., Tuesday in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home.
