Mrs. Joan Virginia Sandage, age 101, of Lake City, Florida passed away on Tuesday, June 4, in the Suwannee Valley Care Center Lake City, Florida following an brief illness. Mrs. Sandage had resided in Lake City all of her life. As a young lady she worked for Eagle-DeVane Clothing Store and then for Metal Products (ITT) in Lake City for over 34 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Lantern Park Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and making ceramics. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wilbert Sandage, her parents, Frank L. and Eva Cox House and her granddaughter, Shannon. She is survived by her daughters, Sheila (Jody) Harrell and Margie (Ken) Dewey both of Lake City, Florida; three sons, Albert (Donna) Sandage, Hargis (Mary) Sandage and Jody (Brenda) Sandage all of Lake City, Florida; twelve grandchildren, Shane, Timmy, Lori, James, Brandy, Sherri, Michelle, Heather, Jared, Kimberley, Kristy and Destiny; 26 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Sandage will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, June 8, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Vaughn officiating and assisted by Mr. John Scott. Interment will be in Memorial Cemetery, Lake City, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10 to 11 A.M. (One hour before services) at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida.
