Mr. John William Arnold, age 62, of Sparta, Georgia died Wednesday, Oct. 7, in the Emory St. Joseph Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia following a brief illness. He was born in Lake Charles, La. and had resided in Branford and Lake City, Fla. for over 15 years before moving to Sparta, Ga. two years ago. He worked many years as a self-employed truck driver and most recently worked for Custom Pine Straw, Bell, Florida before his retirement. He enjoyed fishing at his Georgia home and enjoyed piano playing and singing with his gospel quartet for many years. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ann Jane’t Natzke. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Virginia Arnold of Sparta, Ga.: His daughter, Tabitha Lynn Arnold of Sparta, Ga.: Two sons, Christopher M. (Tabitha) Arnold of Rossville, Ga. and Jonathan Charles (Nodia) Arnold of Lake City, Fla.: One step-son, Keith Alan Laidig of Lakeland, Fla.: His parents, Bill and Thelma Arnold of Palmetto, Fla.: One sister, Linda Petroski of Palmetto, Fla.: Two brothers, William Kenneth Arnold and Kenneth Charles Arnold both of Bradenton, Fla.: Ten grandchildren also survive. Graveside funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Arnold will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, Oct. 17, in the Townsend Cemetery, north of Bell, Fla. with Mr. Christopher M. Arnold officiating.
