Mr. John Raymond Henley, age 76, of Lake City, Florida passed away on Thursday, May 16, in the Shands University of Florida Hospital, Gainesville, Florida following a brief illness. Mr. Henley was born in Jasper, Tennessee and resided in Augusta, Georgia before moving to Lake City, Florida in 1995. He worked for many years as a salesman in the computer and advertising business and most recently drove a taxi cab for USA Taxi in Lake City, Florida. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Janie Newt Henley. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Cindy Henley of Lake City, Florida; one daughter, Penelope Fuller of Chattanooga, Tennessee: four step-children, Eddie Sargent of Lake City, Florida, Robbie Sargent of Dallas, Texas, Danny Sargent and Barbara Sargent both of Davie, Florida; one sister, Pat Henley of Chattanooga, Tennessee; one brother, Wayne (Peggy) Henley of Madison , Georgia; two grandchildren, John Wesley Sullivan and Sarah (Elijah) Gibson; one great-grandchild Nausicaa Gibson also survives. A visitation and gathering for friends and family will be held from 2 to 5 P.M. Tuesday, May 28, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida. Burial will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. Please omit flowers and make donations to the Lake City Humane Society, 1392 N.W. Shelter Glen, Lake City, Florida 32055.
