John Willie Nettles

Mr. John Willie “J.W.” Nettles, age 96, of Fort Valley, Georgia died Sunday, July 1, in the Houston Medical Center, Warner Robbins, Georgia following an extended illness. Mr. Nettles was born in Sanderson, Florida and resided in Macclenny and Lake City, Florida for over 50 years. He was employed as a welder in the construction industry for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Nettles and his parents, John F. and Myra Mason Nettles. He is survived by two daughters, Janette (Joseph James) Brown of Anchorage, Alaska and Cleo Marie Nettles of Macclenny, Florida: One son, Willie L. (Virginia) Nettles of Perry, Florida: Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Nettles will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, July 7, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Pastor Veronica Thomas of White Springs Congregational Church officiating. Internment will be held in South Prong Cemetery, Sanderson, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, July 6, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W.
