John Calvin Williams

October 22, 1935 — February 2, 2014

Mr. John Calvin Williams, age 78, of Lake City, Fla.  died   Sunday, Feb. 2, in the Suwanne Valley Care Center, Lake City, Fla. following a long illness.  He was born in Lauraville, Fla. and had resided in Jacksonville, Fla. before moving to Lake City, Fla. in 1988. He worked as a truck driver for many years with Alderman Truck Line and Pilot Truck Lines of Jacksonville,  Fla..  He was an adopted member of the First Baptist Church  of  Olustee, Fla. and a Navy veteran.  He  enjoyed  farming  and listening to southern gospel music and watching old western movies.  He was preceded in death by his parents, William Franklin and Jessie Music Williams.  He is survived by two daughters, Molly H. (Troy Jones) Wallace of High Springs, Fla. and Lisa Wootters of Bell, Fla.: One son Rev. Michael  C. (Rene’) Williams of Lake City, Fla.:  One brother, Freddy (Sylvia) Williams of Hawthorne, Fla.:  Grandchildren, Kristin Waldron, Shad Griffis, Brandon Griffis, Heather Griffis ,  Amanda  Wootters and Thomas Jones. : 6 great-grandchildren and numerous children who called him Papa John also survive.  Funeral   services  will  be conducted at  11 A.M.  Wednesday, Feb.  5,   in the Chapel of Guerry  Funeral   Home  with Rev.  Michael   C. Williams  officiating  and assisted by Rev. James Croft and Rev.  Ray Boone.  Graveside services will be held at 3 P.M.     in  Evergreen Cemetery, Jacksonville, Fla.  Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday, Feb. 4,  at  GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S. W.
