Mr. Johnny Stambaugh, age 73, of Lake City, Florida passed away on Sunday, July 10, at his home following a long illness. Mr. Stambaugh was born in Ashland, Kentucky and resided in Green Cove Springs, Florida before moving to Lake City, Florida in 1989. He worked as a master electrician for over 30 years until his retirement. He was a Christian and served two tours in Vietnam in the U.S. Army, mostly with the 11th Armed Calvary and was the recipient of several Purple Hearts for his valor in service. Mr. Stambaugh was a CB and Ham radio operator and loved trips to numerous casinos for entertainment. He was preceded in death by his son, John Thomas Stambaugh and his parents, Millard and Lora Pennington Stambaugh. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Theresa Stambaugh of Lake City, Florida; four children, Jamie Kiedrowski of Green Cove Springs, Florida, Roni (Jeremy) Doyle, Goldie Stambaugh and Jesse (Lindsey Markham) all of Lake City, Florida; one brother, Paul Stanbaugh of St. Petersburg, Florida; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. A graveside funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Stambaugh will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, July 14, in the Jacksonville National Cemetery, Jacksonville, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, July 13, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida.
