Joseph Eugene Alford

Mr. Joseph Eugene Alford, age 55 of Lake City, FL passed away Friday, December 16, 2022, following an illness. Mr. Alford was born in Lakeland, FL where he grew up before moving to Lake City, FL where he lived the rest of his life. He worked at the U.S. Cold Storage as a forklift operator. He was a diehard Florida Gator fan. He loved watching Gator football, nascar, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a hardworking man that loved grilling and eating a home cooked meal. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Dorothy Shuler Alford, and one sister, Elizabeth Starling. He is survived by one son, Joseph (Tori) Alford, of Jacksonville, FL. One daughter, Ashley (Jason) Powell, of Lake City, FL. 4 brothers, Kenny, Chuck, and Marvin Alford, of Lakeland, FL. and Roger Alford, of Live Oak, FL. 5 grandchildren, Preston Edward and Braxton Lee Alford, Bryce Edward Wyatt, Nondas Riley and Kailum Iridium Powell also survive. A memorial service to honor the life of Mr. Alford will be held January 6th, 2023 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel at Guerry Funeral Home.  Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. (one hour before the service.) at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd. Lake City, Florida.
