Mr. Joseph Hugh Miller, age 73, of Baldwin, Florida died Friday, Dec. 16, at his home following an extended illness. He was born in Ducktown, Tennessee and had resided in Baldwin, Florida for the past 50 years. He served with the U.S. Navy for 21 years and retired with the rank of Chief Warrant Office 3 in 1986. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the D.A.V Chapter 1, Jacksonville, Fla. He loved wood working, yard work and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Dorsey and Lennie Clyde Brown Miller, his sister, Mary Ruth Miller Kimsey, his step-father, Marshall Sigmon and his father and mother-in-law, John Lester and Dorin Carroll Crews. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Wanda Miller, three daughters, Dana (Rory) Henck, Nancy (Jimmy) Reddick and Sheila (Dale) Reynolds all of Baldwin, Florida: One sister, Margaret (Junior) Mason of Epworth, Georgia: Brother-in-law, Mark Kimsey of Union City, Georgia: Seven grandchildren, Anthony, Lea, Amanda, Hannah, Alex, Matthew and Caroline also survive. Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Miller will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, Dec. 21, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with the Navy Chaplain officiating. Burial will follow at 2 P.M. in the Jacksonville National Cemetery, Jacksonville, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 5 to 7 P.M.
