Joyce Weldon

Mrs. Joyce Bolton Weldon, age 89, of Macclenny, FL went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 2 at Wells Nursing Home, Macclenny, FL following an extended illness. Joyce was born in Jacksonville, FL but has been a resident of Baker County, FL for over 60 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, her church, traveling and was an avid Florida Gator fan. Joyce taught school for over 32 years in the State of Florida and was especially fond of the Class of 1969. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Macclenny, FL. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Bolton and Ruth Edenfield and her loving husband, Stephen Weldon. Joyce is survived by her daughters, Dana (Bobby) Lane of Macclenny, FL and Lucy (Butch) Wells of Jacksonville, FL: grandchildren, Andy (Shannon) Lane, Melanie (Jon) Begg, and Hannah Wells: great grandchildren, Abbie and Hadley Lane, Hayden Meeks, Kennedy, Silas, and Stella Joyce Begg. She is also survived by her half-sisters, Linnie (William) Drawdy, Maxie (Mike) Puerner and half-brother, George Bolton. Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Joyce will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, February 8 in the First United Methodist Church, Macclenny, FL with Pastor Bryan Simpson and Rev. Joe Ruis officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M., Friday, February 7 in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home, U.S. 90 E., Macclenny, FL. Interment will immediately follow the funeral services in Crosby Lake Cemetery, Starke, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Baker County Education Foundation by contacting Robin Mobley, 904-259-0428 or to Community Hospice. The family would to thank the staff of Wells Nursing Home and Community Hospice for the wonderful care that was given to their mother and nana.
