Mrs. June Faye Lyons, age 86, of Macclenny, Florida died Friday, Jan. 29, in the Baptist Medical Center Downtown, Jacksonville, Florida following a sudden illness. She was born in the Taylor community of Baker County and lived most of her life in Macclenny, Florida. She and her late husband, John Wesley Lyons, Jr., owned and operated Lyons Appliances and Furniture Store and also The Quick Stop Store in Glen St. Mary, Florida for many years. She was a member of the Glen Hill Primitive Baptist Church and a former member of the Taylor Friendship Club. She loved gardening, quilting and taking care of her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Ethel Rhoden Johns, Sr., her late husband, John Wesley Lyons, Jr. and her brother, Junior Lyons and one great grandchild, Launa Bree Monds. She is survived by her three daughters, Sylvia Kay (Terry) Tharpe of McKinney, Texas, Kathy Lee (Terry) Smith and Beverly Karen (Eston) Monds both of Glen St. Mary, Florida: one brother, Arnold (Cindy) Johns of Macclenny, Florida: Three sisters, Sherrell Patterson, Helen Bradshaw and Evelyn Tanner all of Macclenny, Florida: Seven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Lyons will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, Feb. 2, in the Glen Hill Primitve Baptist Church with Elder Arnold Johns and Elder Michael Green officiating. Interment will be in Taylor Cemetery, Taylor, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at her church.
