Karen Lynn Chandler

February 10, 1958 — July 2, 2016

Mrs. Karen Lynn Chandler, age 58, of O’Brien, Florida died Saturday, July 2, in the Shands Live Oak Hospital, Live Oak, Florida following a brief illness.  She was born in Jacksonville, Florida and resided in Lake City, Florida before moving to O’Brien, Florida in 1985.  She was a registered nurse and worked as Assistant Director of Nursing with Gainesville Healthcare Center, Gainesville, Florida. She was formerly employed with Haven Hospice, Gainesville, Florida.  She was a member of the O’Brien Baptist Church, a graduate of Columbia High School Class of 1976, and  received her A.A. degree in nursing from Lake City Community College and a Bachelor in Healthcare Administration from St. Leo University. She enjoyed riding the motorcycle with her husband.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie Jackson Tanner and Roberta Adel Johnston Tanner and her sister, Linda Taylor.  She is survived by her husband, Harmon A. Chandler of O’Brien, Florida:  Her three children, Jason (Lynn) Chandler of Mayo, Florida, Scott (Ashley) Chandler and Jessica Chandler both of Wellborn, Florida:  Three siblings, Sandra Herringshaw of Lake City, Florida, Janet Kinard of Fort White, Florida and Lonnie Tanner of Mayo, Florida: Four grandchildren, Seth Chandler, Wyatt Chandler, Jordyn Chandler and Jackson Chandler also survive.  A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Chandler will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, July 6, in the Philippi Baptist Church with Rev. Hugh Sherrill officiating. Interment will be in Philippi Cemetery, Columbia County, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 5 to 8 P.M. Tuesday, July 5, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd, Lake City, Florida.
