Kathleen Marie Mccarthy

Kathleen Marie McCarthy, 86, of Lake City, FL, passed away on March 28th, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Jack McCarthy, her daughter, Kathleen McCarthy Bishop (Sonny), and her twin sisters Mary Joyce and Elizabeth Whalen. Kathleen was born on August 10, 1937, in Jersey City, NJ to the late Gertrude and Thomas Lynch. Kathleen met her husband, Jack, in New Jersey, where the couple raised their four children. When their children were grown, they relocated to Stuart, FL, where they resided for twenty years, before settling in Lake City. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she was a devout Catholic and was actively involved in her community as an emergency room volunteer. Kathleen is survived by sons Jack McCarthy (Kim) of Fort White, FL, and Michael McCarthy (Barbara) of Oak Ridge, NJ, daughter Diane McCarthy Lee of Tallahassee, FL, sister Anne Ohlmeyer of OH, and brother Tom Lynch of NJ. Kathleen was a proud grandmother of 13 and great-grandmother of 11. She is also survived by a large extended family which includes numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Services for Kathleen will be held on Friday May 31st, 2024, at Guerry Funeral Home at 11:00 AM. with Rev. Bob Hoffman, pastor of Epiphany Catholic Church, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Haven Hospice House of Lake City in Kathleen's memory.
