La Verne Crawford

Ms. La Verne Barton Crawford, age 66, of Macclenny, FL passed away Wednesday, Aug. 4th in the Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital, Macclenny, FL following a brief illness. Ms. Crawford was born in Jacksonville, FL and was raised in Baker County, FL. She began her career as a bus driver at the bus garage in Macclenny, FL. She was later employed at Baker County Sherriff’s Office and ended her career at the Baker County School Board which is where she retired from as a custodian. Ms. Crawford loved to fish, enjoyed interacting with the teachers at her schools and cherished spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Barton and Bessie Brady, her late husband, Jimmy Crawford, Sr., and brother, Gordon Barton. She is survived by her daughter, Katina Bryant (Wade) of Macclenny, FL: son, Jimmy Crawford, Jr.: two brothers, Clyde Goff (Kathy) of St. George, GA and James Goff (Debbie) of Lake Butler, FL: 3 sisters, Brenda Harvey (John) of Glen St. Mary, FL, Tammy Barton Kelleher (Kevin) of Petaluma, CA, and Bernice Seay of Lake Butler, FL: One grandchild, Kota Bryant, 5 nieces and 4 nephews, also survive.
