Lafayette Gresham "Buster" Price Jr.

Mr. Lafayette Gresham “Buster” Price, Jr., age 74, of Lake City, Florida passed away on Friday, May 17, at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Price was born in Jacksonville, Florida and resided in Lake City, Florida since 1992. He served in the U.S. Army for 26 years and retired with the rank as Sgt. First class in 1993. He then became a correctional officer at the Baker County Correction facility and served 16 years until his retirement. He received the Bronze Star and was a veteran of the Vietnam War the Desert Storm conflict. He earned an A.A. Degree from Lake City Community College and was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. His main hobby was fishing. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Charla Diane Price and his parents, Lafayette and Mary Mistler Price, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara A. Price of Lake City, Florida; his daughter, Donna (Ray) Carpenter of Lake City, Florida; his son Jonathan (Becky) Price of Lake City, Florida; two sisters, Sally Ann Pace and Brenda Wright both of Jacksonville, Florida; two brothers, Henry “Skipper” Price of Lake Butler, Florida and Phillip Price; five grandchildren, Jacob Price, Kearra Carpenter, Braxton Schafer, Jackson Price and Leila Schafer. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Price will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, May 21, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Alexander Gonzalez, Pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church, officiating. Full military honors will held at Fellowship Cemetery following the funeral service. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 5 to 7 P.M. Monday, May 20, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida.
