Mrs. Lagatha Mae James, age 90, died Saturday, Nov. 24, in the Baptist Medical Center Downtown, Jacksonville, Florida following a long illness. She was born in Shelmont, Georgia and had resided in Jacksonville, Florida since 1958. She was a homemaker was a member of the Bethel Temple Assembly of God Church, Jacksonville, Florida. She enjoyed going to church, working and doing her daily walks. She was preceded in death by her parents, John A. and Arrie Shrader Pennington, her son, Forest James and her significant other for over 50 years, Rayburn Hall. She is survived by four daughters, Patricia Ann Harvey of Brunswick, Ga., Janet Kay McTyre, Joy L. Foster and Mona Sue Smith all of Jacksonville, Florida: one sister, Geraldine Britt of Flat Rock, Ala.: 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild also survive. A memorial service to honor the life of Mrs. James will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, Nov. 29, in the Bethel Assembly of God Church. 8380 Devoe Street, Jacksonville, Florida with Pastor David Manning officiating. Final disposition will be by cremation. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10 to 11 A.M. Thursday (One hour before services) at the church. GUERRY FUNERL HOME, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Florida is in charge of arrangements.
