Larry Brooks

Mr. Larry Marvin Brooks, age 80 of Macclenny, FL passed away Sunday, June 2nd in the Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City, FL following an extended illness. Larry was born March 7, 1944 to the late Archie James, Sr. and Helen Bennett Brooks. He was a graduate of Baldwin High School. Larry was a founding member of The Lord’s Church where he worshipped and fellowshipped for many years. He loved life and people. Larry didn’t miss an opportunity to make someone laugh. Standing at 6’4”, he was perfect for operating big trucks and equipment, and was very successful at selling them. Larry married Susan Yarbrough on April 10, 1978 and together they had two children, Maggie and Brock. They built a wonderful life together and Larry loved his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Loretta, sisters, Barbara and Patricia, and brother, Rodney. Larry is survived by his loving wife, Susan Brooks: his children, Maggie, Brock (April), Larry Ellis, and Annett: grandchildren, Mallory Chauncy, Carly Markham, and Maddox Brooks: great-grandchildren, Layla and Knox: siblings, Earl, Archie, Jr., Michael, Karen and Pam. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Brooks will be held at 2 P.M., Friday, June 7th in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home. A visitation and gathering with the family will begin at 1 P.M. (one hour before the service). Interment will follow the funeral service in Taylor Cemetery. Guerry Funeral Home, US 90 E., Macclenny, FL has been entrusted with the service arrangements.
