Mr. Larry A. Crook, 68 of Olustee, died on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. He was born in Wilmington, NC and grew up in Charlotte, NC where he graduates from West Mecklenburg High School. He then went into the Marines. In 1966, he graduated as part of Marine Corp Platoon 2062 and deployed to the Vietnam Conflict.
After an honorable discharge as a Corporal, he received a Bachelor degree from Appalachian State.
After graduating college, he moved to Jacksonville, FL to join his brother at Precision Crankshaft, Inc.
He later moved to Olustee, FL to enjoy the country life. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed telling the tales.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Oscar and Aletha Presson Crook; and Brothers Percy L. and Johnny M. Crook. He is survived by his sister-in-law Bennie (Percy); his nephews Bari L. (Jo Ann) and Christopher Allan (Wendie); and grandnephews Seth L. and Jacob D.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home to honor his life with Pastor Greg Richie, pastor of Live Oak Church of God, Live Oak, FL officiating. Interment will follow at a later date at Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, FL. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday from 10-11:00 AM in the chapel.
