Mr. Larry Homer Turk, age 71, of Glen St. Mary, FL passed away on Sunday, January 31, at his home. Mr. Turk has been a lifelong resident of Baker County and enjoyed working outside and around his home. Those who know him would say he is a “jack of all trades”. He loved NASCAR and his favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt. Mr. Turk served in the Army and was the former President of the Heat and Frost Insulators Local Union 13. He was also the current Training Director of the Heat and Frost Local 13 Apprentiship Program through Florida State College of Jacksonville, Jacksonville, FL. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed his dogs. Mr. Turk is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Ruby Keene Turk, two brothers, Herman Turk and Eugene Turk, one sister, Wanda King, and one grandchild, Hannah Carrington. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Teresa Davis Turk of Glen St. Mary, FL: two daughters, Dedra Carrington (Michael Gray) of Glen St. Mary, FL and Lori Harrington (Klate) of Macclenny, FL: One brother, Kenneth Turk (Marilyn) of Macclenny, Fl: Four grandchildren, Taylor, Tyler, and Tripp Carrington and Avery Thornton also survive. Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Turk will be held Friday, February 5, at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home, with Rev. Bobby Hires, officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M., Thursday, February 4, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Manntown Cemetery, Glen St. Mary, Fl. Guerry Funeral Home, US 90 E.
