Leanne Davis

Leanne Smith Davis passed away on September 29, 2020 at her beloved cabin on the St. Mary’s River.  Leanne was born in Miami, raised in West Palm Beach but spent the majority of her life in Baker County.  Leanne was a devout Christian woman who loved the Lord with everything she had and would be the first person to offer prayers when anyone was in need.  It was also very fitting that Leanne signed her name with a smiley face as she was a beacon of pure sunshine to everyone that knew and loved her. She was truly a special lady that never met a stranger and had a special gift for only seeing the good and pure in peoples’ hearts.  Leanne was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She lived for her children, grandchildren, dogs and cats who were all the center of her universe.  She loved to shower all her loved ones with gifts, but that paled in comparison to the love and warmth she always gave each with her hugs and words.  Leanne enjoyed spending time at the river with her dogs, Kenzie, Buck and Lacey along with friends and family who would come to enjoy the beautiful property her and Ed called home.  She loved tending to and feeding the squirrels and birds on her property and always loved a peaceful boat ride down the St. Mary’s when the river allowed.  Leanne also loved her football.  She was a devoted Seminole and Jaguars fan and tried her best to never miss watching a game.   Above all, those who knew Leanne, knew a woman who was pure at heart and only wanted the best for others.  She was a woman with a spirit this world needs more of and a spirit that will truly be missed.

Leanne is proceeded in death by husband Edward Davis, mother Dorothy Smith Cumbie, father Grant Smith, stepfather Bill Cumbie and her grandparents.  She is survived by her son Daniel Davis (Ashley), daughter Jessie Maloy (Clay), daughter Heather Kight, daughter Dori Castillo (John Michael), son Daren Davis (Jennifer), brother Kurt Smith (Sherrie), sister Debbie Kirkland (Dolph), grandchildren Davis Maloy, Blakely Maloy, Rylee Davis, Raegen Davis and Alyssa Eason.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 9th in the chapel of Guerry Funeral Home in Macclenny with Leanne’s children delivering the eulogy.
