Leonard Alton Douglass

February 5, 1927 — February 16, 2022

Mr. Leonard Alton Douglass, age 95, of Bell, Florida passed away at his home on the Suwanee River where he resided for the last 20 plus years. Mr. Douglass was born on February 5th, 1927 in Lulu, Florida. A native of the area, he graduated from Branford High School as the first student council president. Upon joining the Navy, he married his high school sweetheart, Ivey Deen O’Steen. After the military, he had a 45 year career with Kilgore/Asgrow Seed Company. During the 60 year marriage, the couple had four children which survive him. Leonard’s legacy is his faith, work ethic, dedication to family and friends, and a love for the outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, and socialize. Never met a stranger. He has been a “father figure” to many who have lost their own fathers at younger ages. It just came so natural to him. Mr. Douglass never realized his value to society. He was a very humble man and will be missed by many. Mr. Douglass is preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Ivey Deen O’Steen. He is survived by his Four children, Alton (Sandy) Douglass of Englewood, Florida, Victoria (Ron) Williams of Bell, Florida, Chuck (Drew Davenport) Douglass of Branford, Florida, and Rodney (Marilyn) Douglass, Lake Placid, Florida; Remaining sibling, Marlene Corbett of Bell, Florida; wife, Edna B Howell;  10 Grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 Great-great grandchildren also survive.
