Leonard Dewey Wilkinson

December 24, 1935 — October 16, 2012

Mr. Leonard Dewey "L.D." Wilkinson, Sr., age 76, of Macclenny Fla. died Tuesday, Oct. 16, in the Acosta-Rau Center for Caring, Jacksonville, Fla. following an extended illness. He had been a resident of Macclenny, Fla. most of his life and resided near the Maxville community. He worked as a correctional officer for over 25 years and retired from the Lawtey Correctional Institution. He was of the Baptist faith, an Army Veteran of the Korean War and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching college football.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rosie L. Wilkinson of Macclenny, Fla.: One daughter, Nancy (John) Powell of Jacksonville, Fla.: One son, Leonard D. (Sonya) Wilkinson, Jr. of Keystone Heights, Fla.: One sister, Charlene Villasor of Macclenny, Fla.: One brother, Wilbur (Iris) Wilkinson of Jacksonville, Fla.: Seven grandchildren also survive.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. Friday, Oct 19, in Long Branch Cemetery, Clay County, Fla. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 P.M. Friday at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, Macclenny, Fla.
