Mr. Lewis Wallace, age 91, of Lake City, Florida died Thursday, Dec. 7, in the Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City, Florida following a long illness. He was born in Pikesville, Kentucky and lived in Michigan for many years before moving to Lake City, Florida in 1984. He worked as a welder with Chrysler Corp., Detroit, Michigan for over 22 years before his retirement. He worked at many odd jobs while living in Lake City and loved to fish, hunt and collect old cars. He was a member of the Lake City Church of God and an Army veteran of W.W. II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lora Stroud Wallace and his parents, Maryland and Bessie Watts Wallace. He is survived by three daughters, Barbara Gaiownik and Dee W. Thomas both of Sebring, Florida and Darlene Williams of Branford, Florida: Two sons, Lewis Wallace, Jr. of Utica, Michigan and Mike Wallace of Lake City, Florida: Two brothers, H.K. Wallace of Lake City, Florida and Hurston Wallace of Lake Orion, Michigan: 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren also survive. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Monday, Dec. 11, in Fort White Cemetery, Fort White, Florida with Rev. Randy Ogburn, Pastor of the Watertown Congregational Holiness Church, officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Monday (Two hours before services) at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida. www.guerryfuneralhome.netl
