Lillie Edna Forsyth, 73, a resident of Lake City, Florida passed away June 26, 2011 at the Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City, Florida.
Mrs. Forsyth was a native of Lake City, Florida and the daughter of the late Millage Durrance and Edna Norris Durrance. She graduated from the Columbia High School class of 1956 and moved to Jacksonville where she met and married her late husband Cannie “Ted” Forsyth, Jr. She was a homemaker raising five children. She attended Florida Jr. College in Jacksonville and received an AA Degree, then went on to University of North Florida and received a Bachelor Degree in elementary Education. She and her husband moved to Lake City in 1995 where she taught school for five years before retiring. She was a active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Survivors include three daughters: Susan (Barclay) Porter, Great Falls, MT. Marjorie (Kevin) Hannah, Gilbert AZ. And Rebecca (Calvin) Boydstun, Colleyville, Tx. two sons: Mathew (Cindy) Forsyth, Lake City, Fl. and Mark Forsyth, Jacksonville, Fl. One sister: Stella Hancock, Lake City, Fl. Seven grandchildren, Shane Porter, Call Forsyth, Brooke Porter, Shelby Forsyth, Dylan Forsyth, Alex Boydstun and Sophie Boydstun, one great grandchild, Nathan Porter. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Forsyth will be conducted Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Cannon Creek Ward, with the Bishop Gary Hart, officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 P.M. Thursday in the Jones Cemetery, Callahan, Fl. The family will receive friends Wednesday June 29, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Guerry Funeral Home, Lake City, Fl. is in charge of all arrangements.
