Lloyd Douglas Mcdonald

Mr. Lloyd Douglas McDonald, age 74, of Lake City, Florida died Friday, May 7, in the Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City, Florida following an extended illness. He was born in Ocala, Florida and moved to Lake City, Florida in 1966. He worked in the print shop of the Florida Department of Transportation in Lake City, Florida and retired after 42 years of service. He was a member of the New Life Christian Fellowship Church of Lake City and volunteered as a chaplain for the Christian Service Center in the 1980’s, was “Big Mac” on the CB radio and lay speaker for the Methodist Church in the 1980’s and early 1990’s. He ran one of the cameras for New Life Christian Fellowship media department for several years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Julia P. Walker McDonald and his brother, Robert L.  McDonald. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Anna Ellis McDonald of Lake City, Florida: Two daughters, Angela (James) Reeves of O’Brien, Florida and Beth (Andy) Miles of Lake City, Florida: one brother, Wayne (Lynda)  McDonald of Jennings, Florida: Six grandchildren, Darian Gray Reeves, Cody Branden Reeves, Jenna Shannon Corbitt, Destiny Ann Price, Justice McDonald and Ashton Douglas Miles: Three great-grandchldren, Bentley David Corbitt, Dominick Drake Allen and Angelina Elizabeth Allen. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. McDonald will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, May 11, in the New Life Christian Fellowship Church with Pastor Craig Strickland officiating. Visitation  and gathering with the family will be from 7 to 8 P.M. Monday, May 10, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida. Final disposition will be by cremation.
